The Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan will provide services for taxpayers-partners on a "green corridor" principle without territorial restrictions.

Advisor to Taxes Minister Alakbar Mammadov made the remark on December 14 during the presentation of "Green Corridor" project within the framework of the Transparent Tax Partnership.

"Currently, some 57 taxpayer service centers are operating in the country, where special zones "green corridor" will be created. Any taxpayer-partner can apply to one of these centers, and get all the necessary services," he said.

To ensure implementation of the new principle in the tax system management a new Transparent Tax Partnership Department will start to operate in the country starting January 1.

The main purpose of the department is to provide services to taxpayers, who timely and fully fulfill tax obligations and cooperate with the tax authorities on risky transactions.

Over the past period some 105,605 taxpayers were registered in the country, according to the Ministry. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Taxes Ilkin Veliyev said that about 400 taxpayers will be able to benefit this system.

To enter into the category of the disciplined, taxpayers must meet a number of criteria, approved by the Ministry, and the amount of taxes paid is not a measure of the discipline.

First of all the taxpayers, must promptly and fully pay their tax liabilities. Declare the number of the workers and the actual wage, conduct accounting in accordance with international standards and should not carry out operations with taxpayers belonging to the risk category.

In addition to traditional services, taxpayers will also be provided innovative services based on the latest achievements of the ICT sector.

"The list of services includes video, provision of services without queues and in the shortest possible time, organization of round tables, seminars and conferences on the basis of appeals of disciplined taxpayers, as well as provision of training and other services," Mammadov said.

The official further noted that each taxpayer will have the curator of the appropriate tax structure. The curator will provide relevant services.

"At the same time appeals of taxpayers to the tax authorities will be treated three times faster than those provided by the current legislation," he added.

If the taxpayer does not meet the criteria, defining him/her as a disciplined, the curator informs him/her about the omissions and gives him/her a month to rectify deficiencies, Mammadov said.

However, if after that the taxpayer continues to violate regulations, he/she is eliminated from the list of partners, the advisor added.
