Explosion on Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline in Turkey

An explosion occurred on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline’s section in the Sarikamis region of Turkey’s north-eastern province of Kars, the Anadolu Agency reported August 4.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be announced.

Gas supply through the pipeline has been suspended.

Reportedly, work is underway to extinguish the fire that broke out after the explosion on the pipeline.
