2014 state budget’s revenues hit 18 bln manats

According to operative data, revenues of Azerbaijan’s state budget amounted to 18.4 billion manats, while expenditures-to over 18.699 billion manats in 2014, Finance Ministry said on January 28.

Last year the country’s Taxes Ministry fulfilled the forecasts on tax revenues by 100.2 percent, transferring around 7 114 billion manats to the state budget. This figure is 449.6 million manats, or 6.7 percent more compared to 2013.

Some 60.5 percent or 4.306,5 billion manats from these funds fell on revenues from the oil sector, which is 539.7 million manats or 14.3 percent more than previous year.

The State Customs Committee fulfilled the forecasts at 100.1 percent, transferring about 1.511 billion manats to the state budget. This figure is 127.6 million or 9.2 percent more compared to 2013.

Revenues from organizations, financed from the state budget, amounted to 207.3 million manats. Other revenues amounted to 231.8 million manats, which is 6.6 times more than the forecasted figure, and exceeds the indicator of the analogue period by 132.7 million manats or 2.3 times.

The country’s state oil fund SOFAZ transferred 9.3 billion manats to the state budget as well.

Some 24 percent or 4.5 billion manats of expenditures were used for spending of social means, which is 9.9 percent or 403.9 million manats more compared to 2013.

In 2014, housing and community-business expenditures increased by 4.7 percent (18.8 million manats), defense spending - by 2.1 percent (31.1 million manats), health care - 7.5 percent (46.4 million manats), social protection and social security - by 12.6 percent (220.8 million manats), education - 8.2 percent (117.6 million manats), agriculture, forestry, fishing, hunting and environmental protection - by 3.5 percent (17 million manats), and economic activity - by 10.9 percent (30.1 million manats).

In 2014, public investments in the construction and reconstruction of scientific, educational, medical, social, cultural, sports and other socio-cultural and household facilities amounted to 1.401 billion manats, and in the construction and reconstruction of energy, water, gas, transportation, community and reclamation infrastructure and other fields – to 2.729 billion manats.
