SOCAR to up number of fuel stations in Ukraine

24 September 2013 [08:15] - TODAY.AZ
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is starting the opening of gas stations (petrol stations) in Ukraine under its own brand, SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists.
“At present 37 petrol stations operate in Ukraine under SOCAR brand. Until the end of the year we plan to increase their number,” the SOCAR president added.

He specified that number of petrol stations would be increased at the expense of reconstruction of the earlier purchased petrol stations and construction of new ones on the purchased land plots. “The company is going to expand its presence in Odessa, Kiev and Lvov as well as break into Kharkov, Zhitomir and Dnepropetrovsk regions,” Abdullayev added.

In 2013, wholesale of oil products by SOCAR Energy Ukraine Company, which manages the Ukrainian network of petrol stations of SOCAR, is planned to be 120,000 tons.

From 2008 till May 1, 2013 SOCAR’s investments in Ukraine exceeded $180 million.
