SOCAR Head rules out connection of TAP selection with DESFA purchase

 “Selection of Tap has no connection with purchasing Greek DESFA Company by SOCAR,” President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev said.

“Increase of Azerbaijan`s gas reserves will cause establishment of new gas pipelines for transportation. Azerbaijan has gas reserves approved in 2 trillion cm and initial 10 bcm of gas will be transported via TAP. Taking other gas fields of Azerbaijan into consideration, we can say that there will be need new gas pipelines in the future,” he added.
