Akkord Corporation has become a member of specialized international organizations.

Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation (Akkord Corporation) has become a corporate affiliate member of International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA) and World Road Association (PIARC).

Akkord Corporation is the first and the only private company from the South Caucasus which became member of these organizations.

It should be noted that the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA)  was founded in 1974 by the initiative of nineteen Nations, encourages the use of the subsurface for the benefit of public, environment and sustainable development and promotes advances in planning, design, construction, maintenance and safety of tunnels and underground space, by bringing together information thereon and by studying questions related thereto.

ITA gathers 64 member nations and 310 corporate or individual affiliate members – world-renown companies in the field of tunnelling and underground construction.

Akkord Corporation has extensive professional background both in construction of automobile road tunnels and underground water and sewerage systems in Azerbaijan and other countries. In addition, Akkord Corporation, in order to participate in expansion project of Baku Metropoliten, has established a joint venture with Bouygues of France, which is one of the world-renown construction companies, specialized in tunneling.

In addition, as mentioned above, Akkord Corporation has become a member of World Road Association (PIARC). Word Road Association (PIARC) is a network that has existed since 1909.

The Association continues to remain a global platform for knowledge and experience sharing on roads infrastructure and road transport. In addition to corporate members, Word Road Association (PIARC) unites 120 government members worldwide and retains consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

Membership at the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA)  and World Road Association (PIARC) has created an opportunity for Akkord Corporation, as an Azerbaijan company, to contribute to the activities of both associations as well as strengthen its international relations and cooperation.
