Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan to establish joint JV

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have agreed to establish a joint venture to produce semi-finished foodstuffs in the Kazakh region of Atyrau.

An initial agreement to that end was reached at a meeting of business people held in Atyrau.

Azerbaijan's Consulate General in Aktau reported that an Azerbaijani delegation led by Consul General Rashad Mammadov and comprising the head of the Azerbaijan Business Investment Association Rafat Aliyev and a group of Azerbaijani businessmen paid a visit to the Atyrau region.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met with officials and businessmen based in the Atyrau region and mulled issues of business and industry cooperation.

Discussions also covered participation of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs in projects such as the construction of a cargo terminal at the Aktau airport, establishment of joint ventures in the agricultural and fishing industry sectors, reconstruction of infrastructure in the city of Aktau and construction of residential properties and social facilities.

Furthermore, the sides discussed issues on overall development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as well as relations among the regions of the two countries.
