
Azerbaijani-Turkish trade turnover exceeded $4 billion in 2012, representative of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan Kagan Yilmaz said at a meeting of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) on "Caspian-European dialogue" with extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of EU countries and the Caspian-Black Sea region in Azerbaijan today.
Exports of Turkish goods to Azerbaijan in 2012 totaled $2.6 billion compared to $2.1 billion in 2011.
According to the Turkish Exporters Council, Turkey exported goods worth $ 228 million to Azerbaijan in December 2012 compared to $ 226 million in December 2011.
The range of goods exported by Turkey to Azerbaijan last year (including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic), includes wood products (worth $266 million), cement ($118 million), gems and jewelry ($57 million), the iron and steel production ($204 million), non-ferrous metals ($34 million), leather goods ($13 million), other goods ($3.4 million), electricity ($275 million), carpets ($32 million), chemical products ($469 million), machinery and equipment ($198 million), textiles ($16 million).
"The amount of mutual investments between neighboring countries totaled $ 10 billion," Yilmaz said. "We expect to increases in these investments in the future."
