KOICA,Azerbaijan realise cooperation project

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology, and Patent of Azerbaijan are implementing a cooperation project within the framework of grant agreement on 'Automation of Intellectual Property Rights Management System' signed on October 11, 2011.

The development of the system is presently under the completion. In order to conduct pilot operation of the system, collect and confirm user requirements, and resolve problems raising during the pilot period and to provide customized training programs for both users and operators of the system, a group of Korean experts was dispatched to the Committee from January 5 to February 2, 2013.

The main objectives of the project are to improve the efficiency and productivity in the management of Intellectual Property Rights to provide better services for the public and to ensure sustainability of IPR System in Azerbaijan by computerizing registration, examination and publication processes at the State Committee.

Within the frame of the project, the necessary equipment such as computers and servers have already been purchased and installed in the committee.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.
