Cargo transit through Azerbaijan jumps

Transport vehicles transported 52.053 million tons of cargo through Azerbaijani territory between January and November of 2012, which is 4.95% less than the same period of last year, the State Customs Committee's (SCC) website reported on Wednesday.

The exports of goods during this period hit 28.005 million tons and imports by 8.494 million tons.

During these 11 months, 236,900 tons of cargo were exported by sea transport for 11 months, 2.66 million tons by railway, 527,890 tons by motor vehicle, 391,860 tons by air transport, 24.184 million tons by fixed transport vehicles.

Some 1.372 million tons of cargo were imported by sea transport, 5.243 million tons by rail, 1.773 million tons by motor vehicle, 19,400 tons of cargo by air transport.

Some 15.55 million tons of cargo was transported by transit through Azerbaijan's territory between January and November 2012.
