27 December 2012 [11:03] - TODAY.AZ
The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum gas pipeline will be expanded with the increased capacity amounting to 25 billion cbm of gas per year after 2017, Azerbaijan’s energy minister Natig Aliyev told journalists in Baku. According to the minister, at a later date the volume of gas to be transported via this route will be increased up to 45 billion cbm.

"Azerbaijan and Georgia have implemented a range of several projects of global importance including a large, regional project, which we are planning to implement together," said Aliyev.
Touching upon other projects implemented by Azerbaijan in partnership with Georgia, the minister said the sides are expected to construct an energy corridor to Turkey. "We have completed all tasks on the construction of transmission lines in our territory. The relevant work has already been done in Georgia as well. This will give us the ability to export electricity,” Natig Aliyev said.

The minister also said Azerbaijan will invest in the construction of a plant fertilizer in Georgia. "Relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are based on mutual benefit, mutual respect and trust. Our projects will continue," said the minister.
