Azerbaijan Railways forecasts rise in passenger traffic

CJSC "Azerbaijan Railways" will launch a tourist train on its Baku-Tbilisi route on Dec.28th, CJSC spokesman Nadir Azmammadov told Trend on Wednesday.

He said during the holidays, high passenger numbers are expected on the route to Tbilisi, and therefore it was decided to launch the tourist train.

"The Tourist train will depart Baku on Dec.28th, and it will return back to the capital on Jan.2nd," Azmammadov said.

He said the CJSC will work according to an intensified work regime from Dec.28th. In particular, the maximum density of passenger traffic will account for Dec.28th-30th.

Additional carriages are planned to be connected to trains to ensure transportation of a heightened number of passengers on all domestic routes.
