Association of Software Vendors established in Azerbaijan

Association of Software Vendors (BSA) starts its performance in Azerbaijan, the head of the representative office of Microsoft in Azerbaijan, Rufat Hajialibeyov said at a press conference.

According to him, due to initiatives designed to support copyright protection, security of information space, trade and e-commerce, BSA programs promote development of innovations in the field of high technologies.

"According to the research conducted by IDC, currently 87% of software is being used in Azerbaijan without a license. Commercial value of used unlicensed software is estimated at $ 67 million, and it causes a huge loss to Azerbaijan's economy, a lot of harm to local IT-business, discourages job creation and deprives the government of tax revenue," Hajialibeyov said.
