Technopark to appear in Ganja

A state-of-the-art technopark will be established in Ganja, Azerbaijan`s second largest city, in 2013. According to Rafig Shafiyev, deputy head of Ganja Executive Authorities, the park will consist of 10 factories. He said the complex would create nearly 20,000 jobs.

“The technopark will occupy a total area of 133 hectares, and will be located in the site of the DETAL aluminum plant.” “Some 630 million manats will be invested in the construction of the technopark, which will be completed in 2016.”

According to Shafiyev, the first stage of the establishment of the park will end next year.
“This will include several facilities including a steel factory with the annual capacity of one million tons.”

Shafiyev added: “As a result, aluminum production will grow from 50,000 tons to 100,000 tons.”
