State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), a driving force of the Azerbaijani economy, expands its international activity and promotes the development of other economic branches of the country owing to its broad opportunities. Entry of such organizations as Azerikimya and Azerigaz into SOCAR in accordance with the order of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev created additional opportunities for the development of petrochemical and gas industry of Azerbaijan as well as activated the work of these structures. In this regard a poll considering the possibilities of releasing state organizations to control of SOCAR for strengthening the latter`s international status of vertically integrated company began at www.caspianenergy.net.
Indicated in the list of response options are Azerenergy OJSC and State Oil Company for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources whose entry into SOCAR would bring its activity to conformity with the activity of international vertically integrated companies.
Bank organization (International Bank of Azerbaijan) is also indicated among the response options. For instance, Gazprom OJSC enters international markets with its banking institution (Gazprombank OJSC).
Another response option is the Caspian Shipping Company which would enable SOCAR to participate in oil and oil products transportation on the Caspian and beyond it as well as provide more opportunities for manipulation on transportation costs determination.
Entry of Azneftkimyamash into SOCAR would enable to produce products meeting international standards and needed both at its enterprises and in international markets.
It is noteworthy that this issue was included into Caspian Energy International Media Group LLC`s September poll on global research for setting SOCAR`s rating. The September poll included a sociological poll among population and an expert poll among top-managers, managers, oil-gas industry specialists, as well as among subscribers of Caspian Energy in 50 countries worldwide.
