26 November 2012 [11:48] - TODAY.AZ
Georgia is holding talks with Azerbaijan to reduce customs duties on imports of tangerines.

Azerbaijan is among the countries with which Georgia holds talks on the issue, Adjaran Agriculture Minister Zaur Putkaradze told reporters on Monday.

Talks on reducing customs duties on Georgian citrus are also held with Belarus and Armenia.

An agreement has been already reached with Ukraine and customs duties on tangerines imports from Georgia into Ukraine dropped by almost twice. Following bilateral talks, citrus exporters can now get customs clearance for a ton of tangerines for $600 instead of $1,100.

According to Putkaradze, the talks between the agricultural ministries of the two countries and the Customs Department of Ukraine lasted for a week.

Putkaradze stressed that today market price of tangerines at the local market ranges from 40 to 70 tetri ($ 1 = 1.66 lari).
