Azerbaijan records rise in volume of construction work

As of early November 2012, the volume of construction work in Azerbaijan increased by 30.9 percent compared to the same period of last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said today.

In particular, the volume of construction work carried out by state-owned companies hit 24.6 percent of the total amount of work, private companies - 75.4 percent.

Around 72.9 percent of the total volume of construction operations fell to the primary construction, reconstruction and expansion, 14 percent - capital repair, 2.3 percent - current repair, 10.8 percent - other construction work.

Around 91,600 were involved in the Azerbaijani construction sector in Jan.-Sept., nominal wages in the construction sector amounted to 562.6 manat, or 9.3 percent more than in the same period of last year. The salary in the state-owned companies amounted to 462.5 manat (with growth of 17.9 percent for the year), private companies - 624.9 manat (with growth of 3.3 percent).

Nominal wage amounted to 596 manat in large and medium construction companies. Wage level in the field of building construction increased by 1.9 percent to 538.6 manat, specialized construction - by 12.8 percent - up to 699.5 manat, in the field of civil construction work - 28.7 percent - up to 440.6 manat.
