Azerbaijan ups power generation

In January-October, Azerbaijani thermal power plant, which is the leader in the country's energy system, generated 6.58 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, SC Azerenergy (electricity generation and distribution in Azerbaijan) said on Monday.

According to the report, in October the power plant generated 636.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity.

The station consists of eight energy units. As a result of reconstruction work the plant's capacity was increased from 2.000 megawatts to 2600 megawatts.

Capacity of power plants owned by SC Azerenergy is more than 6.000 megawatts. SC Azerenergy owns more than 200 substations with a capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kilovolts, as well as 6 hydropower and 13 thermal power plants.
