Azerbaijan records rise in car import

In Jan.-Sept, Azerbaijan imported 57,520 cars, or 29.6 percent more than in Jan.-Sept. 2011, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the total cost of passenger cars imported in Jan.-Sept. exceeded $553 million, which is 23.5 percent more than in Jan.-Sept. 2011.

During the reported period, Azerbaijan imported 7,187 trucks, which is 79.3 percent more than in Jan.-Sept. 2011.

The total cost of imported cars exceeded $171.7 million or 103.5 percent more than in Jan.-Sept. 2011. The country also  imported 852 buses, which is 98.6 percent more than in Jan.-Sept. 2011.
Buses were imported to the amount of $42.94  million, which is 154.2 percent more than in the same period of 2011.
