Baku Oil Refinery ready for winter

Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is ready for the autumn-winter season, the SOCAR report published Friday on its website said.

The refinery is mostly focused on the production of light petroleum products, particularly gasoline.

According to the report, the preparation for winter began in May this year. In particular, all necessary work was conducted, both on the plant production areas and in office buildings. All instruments and equipment were provided by antifreeze solution.

Oil products are produced at two Baku refineries with capacity of 20 million tons of oil a year. Both refineries belong to SOCAR, which annually processes approximately six million tons of oil at its own expense from onshore and offshore fields.
