France, Azerbaijan to boost coop in ICT sector

An agreement between France and Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) has been already developed. The statement came from the ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier on Wednesday.

According to the ambassador, the agreement will be signed next year, during a visit of French Junior Minister for SMEs, Innovations and Digital Economy, Fleur Pellerin, and French Minister for Higher Education and Research, Genevieve Fioraso to Baku.

"Azerbaijan is seeking to take a leading position in the region in the field of ICT. For our part, we see great perspective in expanding contacts between French and Azerbaijani companies in this field," the ambassador said.

According to the ambassador, holding of such major international events as Global Forum on Internet Governance IGF 2012, allows people to learn more about the modern realities of Azerbaijan, which increases the possibility to establish a favourable economic contacts.
