Over 60% of bank deposits in Azerbaijan insured

Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund has completed collection of the regular calendar payments for 3rd the quarter of 2012. The amount of deposits made AZN 1,404 mln, up AZN 61.3 mln or 4.6% compared to second quarter.

During the reporting period, total amount of deposits of individuals increased by 2.8% (AZN 122 million), insured deposits - 6.2% (AZN 195 million), while the volume of uninsured deposits decreased by 2.7% (AZN 45 million). As a result, the growth rate of insured deposits was ahead of the growth rate of uninsured deposits.

Members banks serve 6,362,090 depositors, 94% of which - the insured depositors. 56% of insured deposits placed in manats, 39% - in U.S. dollars and 5% - in euros.

64% of total individual deposits (AZN 4.4 billion) fell to share of insured, and 36% (AZN 1.6 billion) - not insured.

Currently, insurance reserves of the fund make AZN 51.9 million.
