
Italy is interested in the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) project, because the project presents good opportunity from the European energy security point of view.
The statement came from Marta Dassù , Undersecretary of State for the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, who attended the conference on "Turkey as an emerging regional power: Challenges and Opportunities," at the International Political Studies Institute in Milan.
“For Italy, Turkey is a center of energy,” Marta Dassù said.
According to Turkish mass media, she also noted the importance of the TANAP initiated by Azerbaijan and Turkey for Europe. Touching upon Trans-Adriatic Pipeline and TANAS projects, the Undersecretary of State for the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs underlined the exploring of joint business opportunities.
