Azerbaijan joins In'l Partnership Against Cyber Threats

Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov accepted as a member of the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (ITU-IMPACT Collaboration), which is the executive body of the International Telecommunication Union, the ministry said on Wednesday.

The decision was taken within the exhibition - conference ITU Telecom World 2012, which takes place on October 14-18 at the exhibition center in Dubai with Technology Week of GITEX.

IMPACT is the executive body of the United Nations specialized agency - ITU. Being the first in the world alliance against cyber threats, it brings together governments, academia and industry experts to build the capacity of the international community in the fight against cyber threats.

This organization is the operational base of ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda and provides access to expertise, facilities and resources to 193 ITU Member States, and also provides assistance to UN agencies in protecting their ICT infrastructures.
