ADB to sponsor solid waste development sector in Azerbaijan

“The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has claimed readiness to assist Azerbaijan in the development of solid waste management” said ADB’s Senior Urban Development Specialist Drazen Kucan who has completed his mission to Azerbaijan (24-27 September).

During his visit, he discussed the solid waste development sector issues in Azerbaijan and future government plan to address them.

The mission conducted meetings and discussions with the Ministries of Economic Development, of Environment & Natural Resources, and other relevant governmental agencies, and with development partners who are involved in the solid waste management in Azerbaijan such as the World Bank, EBRD and KfW.

The aim of the mission was to discuss ADB’s technical assistance grant of $800,000 for solid waste development sector to the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan.
