Azerbaijan, Israel eye ICT issues

Communications & IT Minister Ali Abbasov has met with new Israeli ambassador Rafael Harper.

The Ministry of Communications & IT reports that in the course of the meeting the ambassador expressed his country’s interest in creating a closer basis for cooperation. He conveyed an official invitation to Minister Abbasov to visit the international exhibition and conference on cyber security.
Mr. Harper noted that during the visit he is expected familiarizing with infrastructure projects, including project “Smart City” and on cyber security, as well as holding joint Azerbaijani-Israeli forum.

Azerbaijani minister, in turn, appraised the role of Israeli investments made in the ICT sector in the economic development of the country and invited the Israeli counterpart to exhibition-conference Bakutel to be held in November 2012.
