Azerbaijan sees rise in metallurgical industry

As of January-August, the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry produced products and rendered services worth 302.8 million manat, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.

Amount of production in metallurgical industry increased by 13.8 percent, finished metal products during this period increased by 76.2 times.

Some 154,100 tons steel casting was produced in Jan.-Aug., steel pipes - 42,500 tons.
Amount of production of iron casting reached 680.3 tons, which is 3.2 percent more than the same period of 2011.

Amount of export of semi-finished products made from ferrous metal totaled 85,700 tons (to the amount of more than $45 million), which is 38.2 percent (in monetary terms - by 28.9 percent) less than the same index of 2011.

The amount of exported pipes made from ferrous metal hit 28,400 tons (to the amount of over $27.1 million), which is 51.4 percent (in monetary terms by 55.7 percent) less compared to the same period of 2011.
