Industrial production cuts in Azerbaijan

In January-August, 2012, AZN 23.0 bn-products were produced in industrial sector of Azerbaijan. The State Statistical Committee says production in non-oil sector grew by 7.9%, while production in oil sector dropped 5.4%.

76.5% of industrial production was in mining field, 18.2% – in processing sphere, 4.8% - in electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply section, 0.5% - in water supply, waste treatment and processing.

During 8 months, oil extraction made 29.4 mln tons, marketable natural gas – 11.4 bcm.

During the reporting period, food production in processing field rose 3.3, drinking – 11.5%, the production of weaving industry products – by 2.2 times, clothes products – 32%, Polygraphy – 1.9 times, rubber and plastic – tripled, construction materials – 22.7%, metallurgy – 13.8%, finished metal production- 1.8 times, electrical equipments – 2.4 times, other transport facilities – 19.4%, furniture – 3.2 times, machinery and equipment installation and repair – 16.2%.
