'Azerbaijan can export more to Germany'

Azerbaijan has many opportunities to increase exports to Germany, executive director of the German-Azerbaijani Economic Society (DAWF) Florian Schroeder told media today.

He added that last year trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 1.5 billion euros. Germany ranks seventh among the countries importing oil from Azerbaijan. Moreover, Germany buys vegetables and fruits from Azerbaijan.

"Germany is interested in expanding economic cooperation with Azerbaijan," Schroeder said.

Azerbaijan imported goods worth 900 million euro, including cars, spare parts, chemicals and other products from Germany.

Germany ranks second on export operations in the world. Azerbaijan must define the main areas of strategic cooperation, Schroeder said.
