Azerbaijan cuts gas extraction

Azerbaijan decreased oil and gas extraction during January-July, 2012 in comparison with 2011.

State Statistical Committee says 25.8 mln tons of oil and 10.3 bcm of gas were extracted during the same period, down 6.8% and 31.8% from 2010.

Note that, 27.7 mln tons of oil and 15.1 bcm of gas were extracted in January-July, 2011.

Azerbaijan intends to increase oil extraction within the next 4 years. So, 45,977,100 tons of oil is expected to extract in 2012, 45,896,600 tons – in 2013, 45,562,900 tons – in 2014, 50,956,600 tons – in 2015.

About gas forecast, 28.280 bcm of gas is expected to extract in 2012, 29.220 bcm – in 2013, 29.540 bcm - in 2014 and 23.310 bcm – in 2015.
