Azerbaijan ups investments in Turkey

Azerbaijan has increased its investments in Turkey by 31 percent over the last year, Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said at a news briefing in Tbilisi on the results of the Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish Business Forum on Thursday.

He expressed satisfaction with mutual investment projects, which are implemented by the two countries' businessmen in Azerbaijan and Turkey.

"Azerbaijan intends to continue the implementation of investment projects in Turkey," Mr Mustafayev said. The minister called the construction of a port in Izmir and acquiring a network of stores in Istanbul among them.

"Construction of the Trans-Anadolu pipeline is also underway," Mustafayev said. Mr Mustafayev expressed his satisfaction also with increased investments of Turkish businessmen in Azerbaijan.

"It gives us grounds to believe that our relations will strengthen even more and will be the guarantor of development of our economies," he said.

Mr Mustafayev supported the continuation of meetings in this format, which will contribute to deepening of economic cooperation between close neighbors and partner countries in the region.
