Azerbaijan simplifies ‘customs clearance’

27 January 2012 [14:16] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan took steps to simplify the customs clearance procedure of vehicles imported into the country through the ‘single window’ system, State Customs Committee Head Aydin Aliyev said in an interview in the official press.

“The ‘single window’ system allows to conduct customs clearance, state registration and record keeping, as well as to issue certificates of the state registration, the right to own, use and sell motor vehicle," Aliyev said. The introduction of this principle was made possible by commissioning the new building of the Auto Transport Customs Administration in October 2011.

Based on the State Statistics Committee’s data, the number of cars in the country increased by 59,800 up to 1.042.300 cars. So, 42 cars are accounted to 100 families today.

The State Customs Committee also is working to ensure customs payments through banks and bank cards.

"To this end, the customs clearance of all types of vehicles and equipment is carried out through the ‘e-line’ system. In addition, the Administration has installed two e- information kiosks for individuals seeking the necessary information about the rules of customs clearance and other data,” he noted.
