Illegal constructions damage SOCAR’s ratings

Illegal buildings in industrial areas and along the pipelines creates problems to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan republic (SOCAR) in the process of formation of as a large international company, as well as affects the ratings awarded by rating agencies, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said at a meeting with voters today.
 
He said when evaluating the company a lot of attention paid to security issues. In addition, these illegal structures pose a threat to the safety of citizens living in areas of industrial companies, and not far from the oil and gas pipelines.

In late 2011, the total number of lawsuits filed by SOCAR in the courts on the issue of illegal construction of residential and commercial facilities in the company’s area reached roughly 12,000.
