Azerbaijan ups power generation

Azerenergy,engaged in the production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan, generated 20 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity in 2011, the company reported. Azerbaijan produced 18.4 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity in 2010, which was 2.5 per cent less than in 2009.

The statement said that 17.3 billion kilowatt / hours of the total amount of energy produced by JSC was directed towards the power plant with the remaining, approximately 2.7 billion kilowatt / hours, to the hydropower plant. JSC produced more than 2.1 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity in December 2011, more than 1.9 billion of which was directed in the power plant and the rest to the hydropower plant.
