Only a major upset will prevent Germany's women winning the first European Games Table Tennis gold after their third consecutive 3-0 result gave them victory over the Czech Republic, putting them into the team final with the Netherlands.
The trio of European number one Han Ying, Petrissa Solja and Shan Xiaona beat Russia in Sunday morning's quarter final before overcoming a determined challenge by the Czech Republic in the semi.
"Maybe the other teams know what our weaknesses are, but I try to cover it up and get inside their weaknesses first," said Solja, the European under-21 number one.
Britt Eerland, 21, almost secured an easy win for the Dutch in the third singles match before being overcome by the more experienced Margaryta Pesotska, but European number 5 Li Jie's defensive qualities then saw her sweep past Ganna Gaponova for a 3-2 team win.
