Sport complexes in Baku to offer internet access

Azerbaijan’s Communications and High Technologies Ministry confirmed that during the Baku 2015 European Games all competition venues will offer full high-speed internet access.

Moreover, multimedia payphones have been installed in the structural divisions of these facilities to facilitate international communications. In addition, all postal services will be functioning at full capacity.

Officials took great care in ensuring that Azerbaijan's telecommunication infrastructures meet the highest standards and offer all visitors comprehensive services. To the regard new optic communication lines were laid down ahead of the Games.

To ensure reliable communication during the historic event and ensure smooth data traffic all communications will be relayed via two lines: one hooked to the main and one to an alternative line should a fault ever occur. Both have a capacity of one gigabit.

The European Games which will be held from June 12 to June 28 2015 in Baku are the first in the history of the European continent.

The inaugural competition for the continent, Baku 2015 European Games will start on June 12 and gather 6,000 athletes from 50 countries for 17 days to compete in 20 sports.
