Azeri grandmasters reach 1/8 round of World Cup

Azerbaijani grandmasters Vugar Hashimov and Teymur Rajabov have progressed to the 1/8 round of the world cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.

Hashimov and Rajabov qualified for the next round after winning Russian Evgeny Tomashevsky and French Etienne Bacrot respectively.
