Journalist gets soaked by wave during report - VIDEO

A Chinese journalist, keen to get the best position possible for her piece-to-camera, ends up getting drenched as the waves she was reporting on crashed down on top of her.

The journalist, who works for a local television channel was reporting on the oncoming tropical storm Nanmadol at a local tourist spot in Haining, Zhejiang Province.

While doing a live piece to camera she was unaware of a 20-metre-high wave that rose behind her, crashing down and drenching her with water.

Nanmadol, which was downgraded from a typhoon on Monday and is due to make landfall in China on Wednesday.

Local authorities have warned that the combination of the high tide and the arrival of Nanmadol could increase the risks of flooding in coastal areas.

Nanmadol has already passed over Taiwan, leaving one person dead and a trail of destruction in its wake.
