Azeri gymnast wins silver at Summer Universiade 2011

Azerbaijani gymnast Aliya Garayeva has won silver in the 26th Summer World Student Games (Universiade) in Shenzhen, China.

The Azeri team`s leader finished second in the final with Indian clubs, gaining 27.725 points. She lagged behind only Olympic champion Eugenia Kanajeva of Russia and bronze went to Alina Maximenko of Ukraine.

In other categories, Aliya Garayeva twice stopped a step to the pedestal (in ball and ribbon) and also became sixth in hoop. The second participant of the student`s games Anna Gurbanova managed to reach only one of the finals. She took fifth place in hoop and 10th in all round events.
