Artist shrinks Tokyo into a 'little city' - VIDEO

Tokyo has been turned into a miniature toy city - digitally at least - by a videographer using a super cool special effects technique.

With camera in-tow, the Japanese creator used 'tilt-shift' photography from an artificial island called Odaiba in the Bay of Tokyo to focus in on the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

The results are simply stunning, with streets and cars shrunk down to toy-like proportions.

As the time lapse draws on, boats docked in a harbour rock like they are in a bath and people moving in a market appear like ants.

The amazing technique, used by the artist who calls himself darwinfish105 on Twitter, focuses in on a particular object and is commonly used to re-create miniature scenes.

The video also shows containers at a wharf being moved around by trucks as well as a great panoramic shot of the city at night where little planes can be seen taking off and landing at the Narita International Airport.

ESPN's latest football advert, which showcases parts of 2011 FA Cup between Manchester City and Stoke, also employs the technique making fans and players at Wembley Stadium look like hand-crafted pieces on a Monopoly board.
