Azerbaijani grandmaster to vie for World Rapid Chess Cup's title

Azerbaijan's Vugar Hashimov will join the world's top grandmasters in a race for the title of the 4th World Rapid Chess Cup of the Association of Chess Professionals in Odessa, Ukraine, next week.

Alongside Hashimov, this year's competition will see participation of Russia's Anatoly Karpov, Ernesto Inarkiyev, Dmitry Jakovenko, Petr Svidler, Alexander Grishuk and Alexander Motilev, Ukrainians Vasily Ivanchuk, Alexander Moissenko, Pavel Elyanov and Yuriy Drozdovsky, Spaniard Aleksey Shirov, German Arkady Naydich, French Etienne Bacroit, Turkish Michael Gurevich and Slovak Sergey Movsesyan. The prize fund of the four-round knock-out system tournament will be $70,000.
