"Batman and Robin" comics to be continued

25 December 2009 [12:35] - TODAY.AZ
Grant Morrison has revealed that he will continue writing DC's Batman and Robin comic for longer than he originally intended.

Morrison initially planned to stay with the title for 12 issues. This was later extended to 16, but he has now said that he will continue for longer.

"I figured once Bruce came back, it would go back to the traditional Batman status quo, which is kind of where I came in," he told CBR. "But then I had an idea that seemed to me a really exciting way to continue the story in a new direction, so I'm going to stay on for that.

"It's a different take on Batman and Robin, but I don't want to say too much until nearer the time. We still have all kinds of twists and turns and shocks to get through before any of that."

DC announced Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne earlier this month. The six-part miniseries will deal with the original Caped Crusader's return to the DC universe.

Batman and Robin will run in parallel with the miniseries.

"[They] don't really link up until the crescendo in Batman and Robin #16 which comes out in September 2010," said Morrison. "You could easily read both books on their own, but it's more involving to read them together."
