Meeting of Azerbaijan-Korea interparliamentary friendship groups held

Korean parliamentarian Suh Byung Soo has praised the country`s relations with Azerbaijan.
Byung Soo, who chairs a parliamentary working group with Azerbaijan at the Korean National Assembly, spoke to Azeri Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov on Tuesday.

The Korean MP said the relations between Azerbaijan and Korea were developing in a number of areas, in particular political and economic ones.

“Korean and Azeri companies enjoy good level of cooperation," said Byung Soo, adding there was great potential to boost “this collaboration even more”.

The Korean parliamentarian stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits for developing the overall relations between the two countries.

Asadov echoed the Korean MP`s words, saying reciprocal visits and meetings "really contribute to boosting our bilateral relations".

"Visits by our leaders were marked by the signing of a number of important bilateral documents. During these visits we also held join business forums."

The Azeri Speaker also praised Korean companies` activities in Azerbaijan.

"There is a number of Korean companies which built successful business in our country. Among them are Hyundai, Samsung and LG."
Asadov hailed the two countries` trade, saying "it is being increased every year".

The Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was also discussed, and Asadov said the dispute "must be solved based on the principle of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity".

"Armenia continues to refuse resolutions by international organizations, including the UN Security Council, demanding withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands," said Asadov.
