Anniversary of liberation of Bashkand settlement from Armenian occupation to be marked in Azerbaijan

An event attended military men who participated in Bashkand operation in 1992 and public figures will be held in the settlement on August 9, member of parliament Nazim Mammadov said.

He said events to mark anniversary of Bashkand’s liberation are held every year.

The settlement is situated in Gadabay region, but was earlier considered the territory of Armenia. After the Karabakh war started, the town was completely under the control of the of Armenian troops. Later Azerbaijani Armed Forces liberated the territory from Armenians.
