Jim Murphy, Secretary of European issues, member of the British Parliament, will visit Baku in the framework of tour to the South Caucasus countries on May 7.
According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, the due announcement was made by the press service for the British embassy to Azerbaijan.
The Secretary of European issues of Great Britain will hold meetings with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov and other senior officials.
During the meetings the sides will discuss prospects of cooperation between the two countries.
Murphy will also meet with experts, dealing with political issues, as well as British entrepreneurs, working in Azerbaijan.
Jim Murphy had occupied position of the Labor and Pensions Secretary before he was appointed the Secretary on European issues on June 29 of 2007. His activity covers European Union and Europe, Russia, South Caucasus, Middle Asia, Balkan mountains, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, OSCE and Council of Europe, NATO, Public Department of Diplomacy.
