Sergeants torturing soldiers sentenced to 7.5 years in prison

The Military Court of Grave Crimes completed a process on the case of Azerbaijan's military police sergeants, accused of 26 episodes.

The court, chaired by Mirzali Abbasov, sentenced Talakhaddin Kerimov and Asef Mamedov to seven and half years of imprisonment.  

The defendants were torturing soldiers and tormenting them. 10 victims witnessed against the sergeants.

The sergeants are charged under articles 128 (deliberate causing of slight damage to human heath), 182 (blackmail), 331 (abuse, beating or torturing a military man), 341 (abuse of powers or negligence) and others.
