Nazim Ibrahimov: "I believe other Turkic-speaking countries close cooperation with Azerbaijan like Turkey"

Chief of the State Committee for Azerbaijanis Living Abroad Nazim Ibrahimov held a press conference in YAP's (New Azerbaijan Party) headquarters.

The committee chief gave information about the results of first Forum of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas in Baku on March 9 and underlined that the forum will contribute to the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship and unity of Turkish-speaking peoples.

"I believe that other Turkic-speaking countries will closely cooperate with Azerbaijan like Turkey and we will hear the expression 'One nation, seven states'," he said.

The committee chief said that the forum proved that Diaspora activity is organized in Azerbaijan. He said Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas are interested in cooperation with other Diasporas.

Ibrahimov said they approve head of Azerbaijan-Israel interparliamentary friendship group Yevda Abramov's proposal on Jewish Diaspora's cooperation with Turkish-Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations.

"I hope the idea will be realized. About 100,000 Azerbaijani Jews living in Israel established organization AzIs and the organization will hold a forum soon. We want to attend the forum," he said.

The committee chief said that March 31 – Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis will be commemorated in many countries of the world.

The chief said that Azerbaijanis do not face serious problems after the amendments to the migration legislation of Russia and added that the country may make amendments to the legislation again in future. APA
