HIV/AIDS widely-spread in Azerbaijan

54 of them are foreigners, 969 citizens of Azerbaijan. 819 of infected with this virus are men, 148 are women. 127 died of this disease. 191 were newly registered in Azerbaijan within the last 4 months of the last year. 203 of them were infected with the virus as a result of heterosexual and 7 homosexual coitus. 8 were infected with HIV in worm. 312 of the infected are residents of Baku, 630 of other regions. 430 of them are at the age of 30-39, 223 are 20-29, 91 are 20-21, 25 are 15-19, and 8 are 14. 51% of the infected with AIDS are drug addicts. 64.5% of the infected are young. 1.4-1.8% of the married women are infected with AIDS.

Statistic data states that 4.3 million people were infected with HIV in the world last year. 530 000 of them were officially registered. The number of people living with this virus reached 40 million. 2.3 million of them are children. APA
