150 Azerbaijanis to study in US in 2007-2008

U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne E. Derse, Ministry of Education Misir Mardanov, and representatives of U.S. government partner organizations will announce recruitment season for the 2007-2008 season of U.S.-funded educational exchange programs tomorrow.

Competitions for the FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) program for high school students, the UGRAD program for university students, the Muskie program for graduate students, the Fulbright program for scholars, and the Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) program for English teachers are now or will soon be underway.

More than 1800 Azerbaijani students and educators have studied in the United States through these programs since Azerbaijan's independence.

Approximately 150 Azerbaijanis will be selected to participate in these programs in 2007-2008, APA reports.
