Azerbaijani Armed Forces will fully meet NATO standards by 2008. The Defense Ministry press secretary, Colonel Ramiz Malikov states.

"We are implementing measures to apply NATO standards in our Armed Forces. The transition process turns out successful in the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) signed with NATO," Mr.Malikov said.

The press secretary also said some changes have been made to the Army due to the application of NATO standards. There is national food menu in the Army, "We do not have any problems on nutrition now. Innovations will be applied as our military budged increases. Nutrition in our Army is in higher level compared with some NATO member states."

Azerbaijan is cooperating with NATO in the frames of the 1994 Partnership for Peace Program and the Individual Partnership Action Plan signed in 2005, APA reports.
